Seeking Answers to Gun Violence

Why are there so many more questions than answers
about how to reduce the toll of gun violence in the US?

One reason is a sustained effort to block research into violence that involves firearms. In 1992, I reported a 5-part series on CNN about public health research on violence. Part four included discussion of political opposition to studying the issue. The opponents of research won.
